The best Serbian race car driver Dušan Borković finished in 4th place in an exciting second race in Bahrain but as Aku Pelinen who finished in front of Borkovic had a jump start he received a 30second penalty, Dusan was moved to 3rd place and collected additional 15 points. With yesterday’s qualifying and race 1 Borkovic has 27 points and is now 3rd in overall standings.

Borković started 9th in the second race but was hit by Mikhael Grachev in the first corner, which resulted in him ending up in 11th position. But Dusan started imporving rapidly with the fastest sector 1 of all drivers. Borkovic soon came to 8th place and passed Davit Kajaia for the 7th. After Vernay had to quit in 7th lap, Borkovic came to 6th position. And after the duel between Morbideli and his teammate Gleason that ended in Gleason quiting and Morbideli’s tyre puncture, Borkovic emerged in 4th and kept that position till the end of the race.

“Although I was not in the best mood after race 1 because of the problems at the start, when I sum everything up this was a great weekend and it looks like it is going to be a very exciting season. It is really important for me that I scored points in qualifying and both races. I am sad I didn’t get a better score in race 1 but we have a lot of work ahead of us and we are preparing for the next event in Portugal. I hope my fans are satisfied with the start of the season and I would like to thank all of them and my sponsors for their support. I am very satisfied with the 3rd position in overall standings as that will give me even more incentive to fight for the top. It is a long championship.  “ – Borkovic said after the first competition weekend in Bahrain.

Next TCR round is in Portugal on Estoril circuit on 24th of April.
