The best Serbian race car driver Dušan Borković won another 25 points by winning the first race on the Slovakiaring track and strengthened his leadership position in the general classification of the TCR Eastern Europe championship with the maximum 75 points. Excellent qualifications enabled the Serbian ace a pole position in both races and promised a successful weekend in Slovakia.

Borković had a great start and held the leading position throughout the race. Neither the 60 kg of ballast on his Hyundai i30N TCR, which he received due to the success of the previous weekend at Grobnik, nor the higher ride height car of our M1RA team driver in cooperation with the NIS Petrol Racing Team prevented him from reaching the finish line with a 24 second advantage over second-placed Dušan Koudžil who overtook third-placed Sandro Soubek in the last second of the race.

"I am satisfied with the race and how the TCR Eastern Europe Championship is going for now. My team did a great job with the car for this race, so neither the maximum weight of 1365 kg, nor the elevated car, nor the very unfavorable high temperatures affected me to be able to give my maximum. I started the race well, caught a good rhythm and successfully controlled the difference with the runner-up, which I was constantly increasing. During the qualifying we had a slight issue to find the right set up for me due to the maximum weight and I wasn't sure if we could find the perfect set up for the race, but it turned out to be great. I hope that I will repeat the success tomorrow at the second race and return home with the maximum number of points", said Borković after the podium.

The best Serbian race car driver will start first in the second race at Slovakiaring on Sunday at 13:10h.
