Borkovic pointed out that it is a great honor for him to be back at the most important car competition in Serbia after a one-year break.

"My co-driver Igor Markovic and I want to come back in great style and win for the third time after debuting in 2019 and 2020. It is certain that we will do our best, despite the unpredictable nature of the rally and the challenges that the discipline itself brings. I'm a circuit racing driver, I'm not a rally expert, but this discipline is deep in my heart and it's always a big challenge for me, and it will be especially so this year after the incident in Croatia. It is certain that this time I will drive more carefully, and that we will finish the race hopefully as winners," added Borkovic.

Branislav Pijevic, competition director , referred to the issue of safety and reminded that all competitors are obliged to drive in normal traffic conditions after the special test and on the way to the next one.

"This year we have twenty-five kilometers of lanes set up to separate the crowd from the track and 190 marshals on both days of the rally. Safety is our first priority and we really pay a lot of attention to it. As for the competitive side of the rally, we expect Dusan and his co-driver to win for the third time, but again, understand that rally is a sport where you drive 152 km at full throttle, which is extremely difficult, and that's why every victory on the rally is a very big success," he said.
Dusan Borkovic also emphasized once again the importance of safety at the competition itself, but also in traffic. "As someone who cares a lot about traffic safety, I owe a lot of gratitude to the organizers of the rally, who put a lot of effort into ensuring that it is at a high level this year as well. Unfortunately, we witness many accidents involving young people, and I try to show on my example that roads are not places for fast driving. That rule applies both to traffic participants and to us, the competitors, when we participate in regular traffic between speed tests at the rally," Borković said.

The president of AMSS, Dejan Stojic, invited the audience to come to Vrnjacka Banja and expressed the hope that the best Serbian race car driver will be able to repeat the success of 2019 and 2020.
For the fifth time, Vrnjacka Banja is hosting the competition with the longest tradition in Serbia and in this part of Europe, and the ceremonial start of the rally is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2022 at 9 p.m. on the Central Square.
Rally Serbia is scored for the European Rally Trophy of the Balkans, the Open Championship of Serbia and the National Championship of Serbia.
