BORKOVIC COLLECTED NEW POINTS WITH GREAT RACING IN RUSSIA Istaknut

The best Serbian race car driver Dušan Borković collected 8 new points in TCR International series by finishing race 2 in Sochi in the 6th position. Serbian driver got penalized for track limits with 30 sec added to his time, which moved him from 5th place to 14th in Race 1. Borkovic has 96 points in overall standings before the summer break.

Borković started race 1 from the 6th position in the 3rd lap he overtook Grachev for the 5th and finished the race in that position. However, stewards made a decision to add 30 sec to Dusan’s time, which moved him to the 14th place and left him without points for race one. Stewards didn’t want to examine video materials B3 racing team provided that showed that Dusan was not cutting but was out of the track and of other drivers out as well. Borkovic is frustrated and sad because of this decision to say the least.

"I fought as much as I could with the extra ballast. In this high temperature with extra kg tires get used more and I am happy I finished both races without a tire puncture. I had a good pace considering kilos, Im happy with that. We didn't have the perfect setup for the whole weekend but B3 racing team did a great job. I don't want to comment on the penalty because I know I didn't deserve it. I would like to congratulate my teammate Attila Tassi on his first podium. In TCR – Borkovic said.

There weren’t any problems for Serbian driver in race 2, he was slower on the straights because of 30kg ballast among other things. Borkovic was 8th for the most part of the race 2 and in the 7th lap, he overtook Oriola for the 7th position and after Morbideli had to quit the race Borkovic finished in the 6th.

“I am really disappointed but I have to move on. I will use this break to prepare for the rest of the season.” – Borkovic added.

At the both races in Sochi, there was again a banner "Invest in Serbia" as it was in Germany and will be on one of races in Asia.

TCR International continues on August 28th on Buriram circuit in Thailand.
