When the podium was certain Borkovic had a tire puncture and ran off the track after a contact with Nash in the last lap. Because of the level of damage the car couldn’t be fixed for race 2.

"I am really sad to finish the race this way. I had a great start and was second for a while. I feel really bad. I was driving 245km/h in the curve and we had a small contact when my tire punctured and I hit the barrier. Nash tried to overtake me but it’s not his fault – Borković said.

Serbian champion didn’t hide his disappointment.

"I feel really bad. My team and I believe we can do much better. I always look for ways to improve myself but this is just bad luck. This affects my confidence. I finished only 3 races out of 10 and only in Estoril was directly my fault. I hope things will get better soon. I do stay optimistic "
